Since signing a first-team contract in February, the 19-year-old has become one of MLS's standout young players, recording 16 goal contributions (3 goals and 13 assists) in 27 matches, including 21 starts. His four game-winning assists this season lead Orlando City in MLS play.

Ellis, hailing from Wellington, Fla., received his first call-up to the U.S. Men’s National Team during the latest international window. He made a notable debut on Sept. 26, scoring just four minutes into the match during a 4-1 victory over Peru, which marked the fastest goal by a USMNT debutant in modern history. He followed up with the game-winner in a 1-0 victory against Canada on Oct. 6.

Before signing with the first team, Ellis scored eight goals and provided five assists in 41 appearances for Orlando City B. His development has progressed through the club's ranks, starting with the Orlando City Academy, then OCB, and finally the First Team. He was recently awarded the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro Pathway Player of the Year and previously earned the MLS NEXT MVP presented by Adidas, along with the Golden Boot during the Lions' victory in the 2025 Generation adidas Cup.

Eligibility for the 2026 MLS 22 Under 22 list required players to be 21 years old or younger before Decision Day on Nov. 7, 2026, meaning they must have been born after November 8, 2004. Selections were determined by a panel comprising MLS coaches, general managers, sporting directors, MLS Season Pass talent, and select members of the media.

Orlando City will host its second-to-last home game of the regular season against New York City FC this Saturday, Oct. 24, at Inter.co Stadium, beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET.
