South Florida Men's Soccer Suffers 5-0 Loss to UNC Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. (September 15, 2026) – The University of South Florida men's soccer team experienced a challenging road game, falling 5-0 to UNC Greensboro on Tuesday night. Despite the loss, the Bulls showed resilience with a strong second-half performance as they prepare for upcoming American Conference matches.

UNC Greensboro (2-1-4) established a dominant lead by halftime, scoring four goals from Lasse Dahl, Keaviano Francis, Mason Dancy, and Malo Jungling. However, South Florida (1-6-0) responded effectively in the second half, matching UNC Greensboro's shot count closely (4-3) and limiting their scoring to just one goal in the final 45 minutes.

Junior Tyler Richardson contributed significantly, playing the full match and creating the Bulls' best scoring opportunity with a shot on target in the 57th minute that prompted a save from UNCG's goalkeeper, Seth Wilson. Diego Sanchez led the Bulls in attempts, recording two shots, while Jakob Auby and substitute Rotem Garama also generated offensive chances.

In goal, freshman Marcus Steinhaeuser had a solid second-half performance, making a save and helping to restrict the Spartans to only two shots on target after halftime. The Bulls aim to build on their second-half momentum when they return to Corbett Stadium this weekend.
