Juventus Chief Football Officer Frederic Massara emphasized the need for the Bianconeri and other Serie A clubs to 'invest differently' and adopt a 'more creative' approach to transfers. He stated that while he is not focusing on the January transfer window yet, the current state of Italian football has worsened its competitiveness on the international stage.
Ahead of the match against Lazio at Allianz Stadium, Massara acknowledged the importance of consistency in performance. He noted the recent 2-1 victory over Celta Vigo in the Europa League, where Randal Kolo Muani and Nick Woltemade scored. However, sources suggest that coach Luciano Spalletti is still seeking a traditional centre-forward in January.
Massara remarked, "We have plenty of time before January, and we also have Ekhator in attack." He discussed the possibility of utilizing two strikers in upcoming matches, indicating that Kolo Muani will start but could be joined by Ekhator during the game.
Spalletti, who is serving a one-match ban, will be replaced by assistant coach Marco Domenichini for this match. Massara reiterated the pressing need for Serie A clubs to adapt to a changing international market, noting, "We are experiencing a particular moment... We need to get used to being more creative in finding effective solutions."
So far this season, Juventus has accumulated 11 points in six Serie A matches, scoring nine goals and conceding five.
