Ella Jablinskey was instrumental in the victory, scoring two goals and providing an assist, contributing to all three Wolverine goals. Michigan (4-1-3, 2-1-0 Big Ten) overcame a 1-0 deficit in the second half, scoring three unanswered goals in just 5 minutes and 37 seconds.
After Michigan State (6-1-2, 2-1-0 Big Ten) took the lead in the 49th minute, Jablinskey equalized the match at 61:47. Three minutes later, she scored again, assisted by Melisa Kekic, putting Michigan ahead 2-1. Maya Raghunandanan extended the lead to 3-1 at 67:24, with assists from Jablinskey and Lilley Bosley.
In the first half, the match was scoreless thanks to starting goalkeeper Malia Zillman, who made seven crucial saves to maintain the tie. Zillman ended the match with a total of eight saves over 90 minutes.
Michigan took a total of 17 shots, with five on goal, and 12 of these attempts came in the second half. The Wolverines will return to U-M Soccer Stadium for their first home Big Ten match of the season, hosting Washington on Thursday, September 24, at 7 p.m. This game will also be Michigan's annual Block Out Cancer event and will be streamed live on B1G+.
