BU (5-6-1, 2-1-0 PL) is currently tied for third place in the Patriot League standings with Navy and Lafayette (3-4-4, 2-1-0 PL), each with six points. The Terriers aim for their third straight road victory.
Lafayette has a record of 1-1-3 at home this season, with its most recent win occurring on Aug. 30. All of Lafayette's last six games have been decided by one goal or fewer.
The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ and live statistics will be available on GoLeopards.com, with an international stream from the Patriot League.
The Terriers recently lost to Army West Point 2-0 on Wednesday, Sept. 30, marking their first conference defeat. Despite the outcome, BU had a significant advantage in shots, totaling 23 compared to their opponent's 7. In their last four matches, BU has managed 23 or more shots three times, leading to a season total of 189 shots against 115 by opponents. The Terriers rank first in the Patriot League and 34th in Division I with an average of 7.75 shots on goal per game. Senior Kat Slott leads the league with 19 shots on goal.
Historically, BU has fared well in October matches, holding a record of 10-1-3 in its last 14 outings during the month, with the sole loss a non-conference game at Yale. The Terriers are also seeking their fifth consecutive road victory over a league opponent since Oct. 1, 2025.
On the other side, Lafayette has secured wins against Colgate and American but lost to Bucknell 1-0 on Sept. 30. Nadia Zaffanella leads the Leopards with four goals and nine points, ranking among the top in the Patriot League. Catherine Apker has been a steadfast presence in goal, playing every minute with a goals-against average of 1.00 and a save percentage of .845. Lafayette was expected to finish tied for seventh in the Patriot League preseason rankings, with Zaffanella named Preseason Midfielder of the Year.
This match will mark the 15th all-time meeting between BU and Lafayette, a rivalry that began in 2013. BU has a notable 12-1-2 record against Lafayette and currently holds a seven-match unbeaten streak. When playing away, BU is 4-1-2 against Lafayette, with the only loss coming in 2019. In their two matches in 2025, BU secured victories with a 9-0 aggregate score, with Ava Maguire and Juliana Osterman each scoring twice.
Following this match, BU will return home to play Bucknell on Saturday, Oct. 10, in its Breast Cancer Awareness Game, set to begin at 1 p.m.
