Junior forward Mika Krommenhoek played a crucial role, contributing one goal and one assist. Sophomore Afton Perry also scored, marking her first goal of the season. The Cougars displayed a dominant performance, recording 24 shots, 9 of which were on goal, while limiting the Knights to just 2 shots on goal and 1 corner.
The match began with a fast start from BYU, as Mia Goettsche scored just 1 minute and 12 seconds into the game, the 8th fastest goal in the program's history. Goettsche's goal came from a well-placed cross by Presley Freeman, after an assist from Mia Woods.
Despite the early lead, UCF equalized in the 12th minute. BYU challenged the equalizer for a potential offside but the goal was upheld after a video review. The Cougars continued their offensive pressure throughout the first half, generating 14 shots and forcing three saves from the UCF goalkeeper.
In the second half, BYU maintained their momentum, earning several corners early on. The Cougars finally broke the deadlock in the 70th minute when Krommenhoek assisted Perry, who found the net to give BYU a 2-1 lead. The match concluded with Krommenhoek scoring a header from a Lucy Kesler cross in the 76th minute, sealing the 3-1 victory.
