After struggling in prior years at the tournament, where she did not win a match in either singles or doubles, Shnaider is now enjoying a successful year. Currently ranked World No. 13, she has a record of 32-20 on the WTA Tour Driven by Mercedes-Benz in 2026. Her notable performances this season include semifinal appearances at Roland Garros, Adelaide, and Washington, as well as quarterfinal finishes in Toronto and Charleston.

Shnaider acknowledged the challenge of transitioning quickly to the new courts and balls after her recent doubles semifinal run in Beijing. "It was a little bit hard just mentally that you had just one day where you can forget about tennis. And then all over again, but this is what happens when you go a little bit deeper in a tournament," she said. Despite her mental fatigue, she expressed happiness about advancing to the quarterfinals.

Her consistency over the past three years has kept her fluctuating within the top 20, peaking at a career-high of No. 11 in May 2025. She recognizes the importance of her support team, which includes lead coach Sascha Bajin, who has been working with her since August 2025. Shnaider has also increased her investment in fitness coaches and hitting partners, adjusting her team based on tournament locations.

Finding the right balance in her team composition has been a learning process for Shnaider. "It takes a little bit more time to create the team around you. You need to find the right people, and sometimes it is hard," she said. Shnaider emphasized the importance of maintaining a mindset conducive to success, both on and off the court.

With her current trajectory, Shnaider could be on the brink of her fourth semifinal appearance of the year, set to face either Jelena Ostapenko or Leylah Fernandez in the upcoming quarterfinals.
