Oklahoma State's Cowgirls will look to improve their standing after a challenging 2025 season, where they finished with a record of 4-13-2. The team returns eight players who started at least eight matches last season, including midfielder Laudan Wilson, who was named Preseason All-Big 12. Colin Carmichael is entering his 22nd season as head coach, holding a career record of 269-123-55.

This season marks the 31st year of the Cowgirls’ program. In its first 30 seasons, Oklahoma State compiled a record of 352-203-68 and made 14 appearances in the NCAA Women’s Soccer Championship, with postseason berths in 13 of the last 20 years. From 2006 to 2011, the Cowgirls made six consecutive NCAA tournament appearances, reaching the Elite Eight in 2010 and 2011. The program also won four successive Big 12 championships from 2008 to 2011.

Texas Tech, currently ranked 12th nationally, is tied for the Big 12 lead with a record of 3-0-1, standing at 7-0-4 overall. Tom Stone, who is in his 20th season as Texas Tech’s head coach, has a record of 232-108-59. Historically, OSU holds a 16-11-7 record against Texas Tech but has not won since 2020; the Red Raiders are unbeaten in their last six meetings.

UCF, set to play TCU before hosting Oklahoma State, shares a Big 12 record of 1-2-1 with the Cowgirls and has an overall record of 6-3-1. UCF's head coach, Tiffany Roberts Sahaydak, has a record of 139-68-38.

At home, the Cowgirls enjoy a strong record at Neal Patterson Stadium, winning over 70 percent of their games there, with a current home record of 5-1-3 this season.

Recently, OSU's victory over 14th-ranked TCU marked its first win against a ranked opponent since defeating No. 6 Nebraska in 2024 and their first conference win since October 2024. The Cowgirls scored three goals in that match after struggling offensively during the previous season.

The team has improved its scoring this year, with 26 goals recorded by 11 players so far, compared to just 20 goals from eight different players in the previous season.

Sophomore Emmy Hedden, now playing as a wide back, leads the team with five assists, earning recognition as the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week following the match against TCU. Additionally, senior transfer Keaton Mitchell has made an impact, with four goals, while Sonora DeFini leads the team with five goals and 13 points this season.
