Andy Murray and Rafa Nadal to Compete Again After 10 Years at Rafa Nadal Academy Event

Andy Murray, a former world No. 1 and three-time Grand Slam champion, will face Rafa Nadal for the first time in a decade during an anniversary event at the Rafa Nadal Academy on October 3. This match will be part of the Rafa Nadal Academy Slam, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the academy in Mallorca.

Nadal extended a personal invitation to Murray via social media, urging him to come back for the event. "I know you've been practising a lot, almost like a professional. I can't practise as much as you, but I think I can still be competitive," Nadal said. He proposed bringing friends for a team competition at the academy.

This event marks Murray's third visit to the academy, having previously attended in 2016 for training and again in 2019 to compete at the Rafa Nadal Open. At the upcoming event, Murray will lead Team Murray, while Nadal will captain Team Rafa, reuniting two significant figures from tennis's notable generation. Their last match occurred in the semi-finals of the 2016 Mutua Madrid Open. The other team members for each side have yet to be announced.
