Wright State Men's Soccer to Face Xavier in Non-Conference Match

Xavier enters the game with an undefeated record of 4-0-2 and is 0-0-1 in Big East play, coming off a 1-1 draw against DePaul in their conference opener. The Musketeers have demonstrated a balanced offensive approach, with 10 different players contributing goals this season.

This match will mark the 31st meeting between Wright State and Xavier, with the Raiders leading the series 14-10-6. In their last encounter, the Raiders lost 2-0 at Alumni Field in 2025.

In their most recent match, Wright State fell 1-0 to Purdue Fort Wayne in a Horizon League contest on Saturday night. The Mastodons dominated offensively, limiting Wright State to just two shots and earning seven corner kick opportunities. Purdue Fort Wayne scored the match's only goal in the 57th minute through Brandon Razo after an assist from Jonny Hernandez and Daven Arias. Alex Normandeau made one save in goal for the Raiders.

Wright State finished the 2025 season with a 2-13-1 overall record and 2-7 in Horizon League play. Three players received Horizon League All-League honors, with Henry Hutchinson and Roman Kedgley making the All-League Third Team, and Alessandro Malterer recognized as a finalist for the Sportsmanship award.

This season, Wright State has 19 newcomers, including 10 freshmen, on their 28-player roster, which consists of 10 freshmen, nine sophomores, and nine juniors. The team features players from nine states across the U.S. and has international representation from Australia, Brazil, Canada, Cyprus, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, and Japan.
