UEFA has announced that the Champions League finals will take place at the Allianz Arena in Munich in 2028 and at Camp Nou in Barcelona in 2029. This was revealed on Tuesday by the European football governing body.

The Allianz Arena will host its third Champions League final in 2028, having previously welcomed the event in 2012 when Chelsea triumphed over Bayern Munich in a penalty shootout, and again in 2025 when Paris Saint-Germain won their first title. Barcelona will stage the 2029 final, which comes one year before they cohost the 2030 World Cup with Portugal and Morocco.
While the Allianz Arena is ready for the final, renovation work is ongoing at Camp Nou as part of a redevelopment project initiated in 2023. Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen expressed excitement about the announcement, emphasizing the venue's international appeal and organizational quality. He stated, “We want to offer fans another exceptional experience and showcase Munich as a cosmopolitan, sports-loving, and exceptionally well-prepared host city.”
Camp Nou will also host the Champions League final for the third time; the last occasion was in 1999 when Manchester United defeated Bayern Munich 2-1 with two late goals. Barcelona president Joan Laporta expressed pride in hosting the event, noting that UEFA’s decision underscores the ambition of the redevelopment project at Camp Nou.
Madrid's Estadio Metropolitano, home of Atletico Madrid, is confirmed to host the final for the 2026-27 season on June 5. Additionally, the Women's Champions League finals are slated for Parc Olympique Lyonnais in Lyon in 2028 and Cardiff's Principality Stadium in 2029. The Welsh venue, which has a capacity of over 73,000, previously hosted the men’s final in 2017. FAW chief executive Noel Mooney highlighted that hosting the Women’s Champions League final aims to promote women's and girls' football in Wales.
