This partnership aims to enhance the delivery of food and beverages within the Grand Slam precinct, improving both commercial operations and customer engagement. The initiative includes exclusive digital promotions for both attendees and those watching from home.
Cedric Cornelis, Tennis Australia’s chief commercial officer, highlighted that food and drink have become essential to the Australian Open experience. He stated that the collaboration will simplify access for fans, allowing them to enjoy the event at their convenience.
Simon Rossi, Vice President of DoorDash APAC, emphasized the combination of world-class tennis and Melbourne’s culinary offerings, expressing excitement about enhancing the fan experience. The Golden Hour Bar on Grand Slam Oval will allow fans to place orders from various food vendors through the DoorDash app, eliminating the need to stand in line.
Additionally, DoorDash will act as the presenting partner of “AO on the GO,” featuring grab-and-go convenience platforms including branded vending machines and carts throughout the venue, along with substantial digital and on-court advertising.
This partnership offers DoorDash a significant opportunity to showcase its technology and services to both domestic and international audiences during one of Australia’s key sporting events.
