Wallace, drafted third overall in 2023, completed a standout season in which he earned a spot on the All-Defensive Second Team in 2026. He was also recognized as a member of the All-Rookie Second Team in 2024.

With the recent trade of Lu Dort, Wallace is expected to join Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as the starting guard in the Thunder’s backcourt. Last season, he played in 77 games, averaging 8.6 points per game and shooting 35.6% from beyond the arc. Notably, Wallace led the NBA in total steals and deflections.

This extension is significant for the Thunder as it secures Wallace ahead of his restricted free agency next summer, ensuring that all five starters are under contract for the coming years.
