Despite a rocky start, Chwalinska displayed remarkable composure under pressure. Her coach, Jaroslav Machovsky, shared his emotional rollercoaster during the match, stating, "My heart is doing fine! But that's sport, isn't it? Stirring up such emotions. It would be boring without them." He praised Chwalinska’s determination, noting, "She hides her nerves. She has instructions and wants to carry them out. Sonay Kartal was playing very well, but Maja kept trying, again and again, until she finally imposed her game. She showed tremendous experience and great character."
Machovsky emphasized the tournament's competitiveness, comparing the draw to that of a Grand Slam. He reflected on Chwalinska's achievement and her victory over Iga Swiatek in the semifinals, saying, "Not so long ago, I would never have thought she could beat Iga Swiatek or that she would win such a big tournament this year."
After the match, the joy was palpable as both coach and player embraced in a moment of celebration. Machovsky remarked, "I don't think we said anything at that moment, we were just happy. It was simply enough to hold each other tight and feel together how beautiful a moment it was. And now, it's back to work."
Looking ahead, there is uncertainty about Chwalinska's participation in the upcoming tournament in Ningbo. Machovsky noted, "We'll wait. We won't rush into a decision today, because it's a difficult one to make. We'll get some good sleep and talk about it afterwards. For now, we haven't had time to think about it."
