Ole Miss Soccer Loses 4-0 to No. 3 Vanderbilt

Vanderbilt's Sydney Watts opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, capitalizing on a setup by Megan Hinnenkamp and Courtney Jones. Ole Miss, now holding a record of 7-4-0 and 0-3-0 in the SEC, came close to responding with two scoring chances from Ava Ghoreishi, one of which produced a save from Vanderbilt's goalkeeper, Alexa Gianoplus, in the 26th minute.

Mia Hebert extended the Commodores' lead by scoring an unassisted goal at 29:09. Just under a minute later, Isabella Pontieri had a chance to score but was thwarted by Gianoplus. Pontieri attempted another shot before halftime, contributing to Ole Miss's five total attempts and three corner kicks in the first half.

Vanderbilt further increased its lead in the 66th minute with a goal from Olivia Stafford, assisted by Melania Fullerton. Hebert then capped off her performance with her second goal of the match at the 72-minute mark.

The Commodores outshot Ole Miss 16-7, with a 7-2 advantage in shots on target. Both teams registered five corner kicks. Ghoreishi and Pontieri each led Ole Miss with two shots, accounting for the Rebels’ two attempts on goal.

Goalkeeper Taylor Prigge played the full 90 minutes for Ole Miss, making three saves.
