Jürgen Klopp has named two squads featuring 16 uncapped players for his first four matches as Germany coach in the UEFA Nations League. Klopp, who replaced Julian Nagelsmann following Germany's early exit from the FIFA World Cup 2026, has selected 44 players that blend experience and youth.

Klopp intends to assess as many players as possible, aiming to navigate the compact schedule of four fixtures during this international break. He emphasized that there is no designated "A or B Team," as some players from the first squad will continue into the second series of matches.
In goal, Klopp plans to start with veteran Marc-André ter Stegen, who last represented Germany during the 2025/26 Nations League third-place play-off against France. He will be joined by Finn Dahmen from Augsburg and Alexander Nübel of Beşiktaş in the first squad. Bayern Munich's Jonas Urbig, regarded as a potential long-term replacement for Manuel Neuer, is included in the second squad, along with Dahmen and Noah Atubolu from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Several new faces are part of this selection, including Younes Ebnoutalib, who is making waves at Eintracht Frankfurt this season. The 23-year-old forward is among the uncapped players despite previously playing for Morocco's U15 team. Jonathan Burkardt returns in the second squad after earning five caps under Nagelsmann, while Cologne's Saïd El Mala makes the squad again after an earlier call-up.
Klopp has also incorporated Philipp Treu from Freiburg and Felix Keidel from Elversberg to enhance options at right-back, allowing team captain Joshua Kimmich to return to central midfield. Additional new players include Hoffenheim's Bambasé Conté and Freiburg's Derry Scherhant.
Germany's Nations League campaign begins on 24 September against the Netherlands in Amsterdam, followed by a home match against Greece on 27 September and facing Serbia in Munich on 1 October, before concluding with a return match against Greece in Thessaloniki on 4 October.
