Senior Nolan Winter led the Badgers with 15 points and 9 rebounds, shooting 77.8% from the field. Another senior, Eian Elmer, contributed 14 points in 24 minutes during his debut as a Badger.
Wisconsin maintained a comfortable lead throughout the game, heading into halftime with a score of 52-33. The Badgers outscored Parkside with 24 points off turnovers, while Parkside managed only 7.
In the paint, Wisconsin dominated, scoring 56 points compared to Parkside's 28. Victory Onuetu and sophomore Will Garlock each added 10 points in the paint, with Onuetu also recording 7 rebounds and 2 blocks.
The Badger's guards played a crucial role, with Owen Foxwell posting 10 points and 6 assists. Zach Kinziger made significant contributions off the bench, scoring 7 points and notching 3 steals. Overall, the bench accounted for more than 40% of Wisconsin's total points, including 7 points from Trey Autry and two three-point field goals from Braeden Carrington. Hayden Jones added 6 points and 5 rebounds in 21 minutes of play.
This exhibition marked the 10th annual Garding Against Cancer Game, which has raised nearly $11 million for the cause.
Head Coach Greg Gard commented on the experience: "It's good for us to get under the lights here and get some experience with this."
Owen Foxwell stated, "We're still working to try to put it together as one kind of big collaborative piece. I think you'll see in patches, we look really good from the outside, some inside. Hopefully within the next couple weeks we'll look like a better unit."
