La Liga president Javier Tebas addressed the implications of the Negreira case for Spanish football and shared his views on refereeing. Tebas also expressed disagreement with many of Real Madrid’s grievances, asserting that it is unjust to create narratives suggesting that Negreira continues to influence Spanish refereeing. He remarked, "It’s one thing to investigate facts that concluded years ago, and quite another to construct in 2026 the narrative that Negreira is still influencing Spanish refereeing today. That’s outrageous. And repeating it on Real Madrid TV doesn’t make it true."

He questioned the motives behind some complaints, asking, "What do some people want? For us to eliminate FC Barcelona and its current directors from LaLiga’s life? For LaLiga to replace the courts, issue its own verdict, and execute a sentence before there’s even a judicial resolution?" Tebas concluded.
