Nashville can secure the Shield with a win against San Jose or by drawing the match if the Vancouver Whitecaps lose or draw against Austin. Additionally, a loss or draw for Vancouver and a similar result for Miami in their game against Atlanta would also lead to Nashville winning the Shield.

If Nashville achieves this on Saturday, they will become the first team to win the Supporters' Shield with four games remaining in the regular season. They are currently on track to set an MLS single-season points record, holding an average of 2.28 points per game for a total of 66 points. This performance puts them in contention to exceed the record set by Inter Miami CF in 2024, which is 74 points at 2.18 points per game.

Winning the Supporters' Shield would mark Nashville's second trophy, following their 2025 US Open Cup victory in their first full season under head coach B.J. Callaghan. Aside from the trophy, the Shield winner also gains home-field advantage throughout the Audi 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs and a spot in the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup.

Nashville can also secure the top seed in the Eastern Conference this weekend, having been the first team to qualify for the Audi 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs.
