Muchova, the Wimbledon runner-up, dominated Anhelina Kalinina, winning 6-2, 6-3 in the first match. Noskova then defeated world number seven Elina Svitolina 6-3, 7-6(5), clinching the championship.
The Czech Republic, now the second-most successful nation in the competition's history with 12 titles, trails only the United States, which holds a record 18 titles. This victory marks the Czech Republic's first Billie Jean King Cup title since 2018.
“It’s very special,” Muchova said. “A dream of mine to lift the trophy. To do it with these girls sitting here, it’s a pleasure. I’m just so proud of us.” She praised the team's camaraderie and hard work throughout the week.
Muchova showcased an impressive serving performance, hitting eight aces and winning 86% of her first serve points, without facing a break point. She converted four out of five break points during the 70-minute match. Noskova faced a tougher challenge from Svitolina but remained composed, recording ten aces and securing the win in one hour and 33 minutes.
Originally, Katerina Siniakova, a 12-time Grand Slam doubles champion, was selected to compete alongside Marie Bouzkova in the doubles rubber, but the Czechs completed the tie in singles.
Ukraine reached their first Billie Jean King Cup final after defeating two-time defending champions Italy in the semifinals. The Czech Republic advanced to their first final since 2018 by overcoming Spain.
The Billie Jean King Cup, established in 1963 as the Federation Cup to celebrate the International Tennis Federation's 50th anniversary, was rebranded in 2020 to honor Billie Jean King. King has won the competition seven times as a player and four times as captain.
