Akron Women's Soccer to Play MAC Opener at Miami

The Akron women's soccer team will travel to Oxford, Ohio, to compete against Miami in their Mid-American Conference (MAC) opener on Thursday, September 17, at 7 p.m.

The Zips enter the match with a record of 4-3, following a decisive 4-0 victory over Mercyhurst last Thursday. In that game, four different players scored, with Sara Bower and Freya Blatz sharing the goalkeeping duties.

Miami currently holds a record of 4-4 and recently secured a 3-0 win against Western Carolina at home last Friday. That match featured scoring from three different players and a total of 31 shots attempted by both teams. Historically, Miami leads the all-time series against Akron, 16-9-4, and the RedHawks edged out the Zips 1-0 in their previous encounter last season. Akron is looking for their first series win since 2021.
