Dan Evans has made a bold prediction that Emma Raducanu will one day win Wimbledon, despite her recent struggles with injuries. Raducanu has been unable to compete due to a leg injury since June, which forced her to withdraw from Wimbledon just before the tournament began. As a result of her extended time off the court, her world ranking has plummeted to No. 107, the lowest position she has held in two years.

Evans, a retired tennis player and former world No. 21 who was part of Britain’s 2015 Davis Cup-winning team, expressed his belief in Raducanu's capabilities. He told the Telegraph, "I genuinely think she will win Wimbledon one day. Yeah, I don’t know why. She’s good, and I think she thinks she’s good." He emphasized that while she approaches big matches with a laid-back attitude, it is this confidence that could lead her to success in the future.

Recognizing the challenge of competing on Centre Court, Evans noted, "The crowd can play such a big part in tennis, and you have to keep yourself together on Centre Court, because it’s a daunting place to go and play. But she looks like she loves it out there."

Despite her triumph at the 2021 US Open as a teenage qualifier, Raducanu’s path to another title appears uncertain. She has not played since finishing as the runner-up at Queen’s on June 14, dealing with a stress fracture during her recovery. This injury has contributed to her fall outside the top 100 rankings for the first time since 2024.

Evans believes that for Raducanu to regain her former standing, she needs to spend more time competing and training, acknowledging that endorsements may also play a significant role in her career choices. He stated, "I admit I’ve not watched her practices very often, but from what I’m told she’s a good trainer: she works for two, three hours in a row with hardly any break."
