Butler is led by first-year head coach Ronald Nored, who has transitioned from an extensive 11-season career in the NBA that included time with five franchises, such as the Atlanta Hawks and Indiana Pacers. The Bulldogs experienced a significant roster overhaul, returning only one player, senior center Drayton Jones, who averaged 6.3 points and 4.6 rebounds last season while starting all 32 games.
Nored’s coaching staff has brought in five transfers that include guard Eduardo Klafke from Ole Miss and forward Treyson Anderson from North Dakota State.
In previous matchups, Indiana has won the last two games against Butler, both of which occurred in Indianapolis, and holds a record of 6-4 against the Bulldogs since 2000. The Hoosiers have played at Hinkle Fieldhouse 20 times, winning 14 of those games. Their last encounter at Butler was at the start of the 1993-94 season, resulting in a 75-71 victory for Indiana.
