Johnson, 26, is a 6-foot-2 guard who played four seasons at Saint Mary's College after starting his collegiate career at the University of Cincinnati. During his time at Saint Mary's, he averaged 10.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. He earned First Team All-West Coast Conference (WCC) honors in 2023, was named to the Second Team All-WCC in 2021 and 2022, and received the WCC's Defensive Player of the Year award in 2023.
After going undrafted in 2023, Johnson participated in the NBA Summer League with the San Antonio Spurs. He was subsequently selected by the Oklahoma City Blue as the ninth overall pick in the 2023 G League draft. Johnson contributed to the Blue's G League championship victory in 2024 and won the Slam Dunk Contest during the NBA All-Star Weekend in 2025.
In his G League career, Johnson has played in 54 games, averaging 8.4 points, 2.9 assists, 2.7 rebounds, and 0.9 steals over 18.4 minutes per game.
