Emma Raducanu's 2026 tennis season has not met her expectations, marked by injuries that led her to miss both Wimbledon and the US Open. Currently ranked No. 98 in the WTA standings, she risks falling out of the top 100. Despite two WTA finals appearances in Transylvania and Queen’s, her overall performance has been hampered by setbacks.

In a recent interview with Uniqlo, Raducanu shared that she finds motivation in Andre Agassi’s autobiography, ‘Open.’ She highlighted Agassi’s candid account of his struggles on and off the court, noting a particular passage where he overcame a slump by developing his own training regimen. Raducanu remarked, “It speaks in depth about his early successes and the lows he reached perhaps as a result of them. A lot of it was so relatable.”

Raducanu also discussed her current mindset, emphasizing that her goals are not solely results-focused. She stated, “Of course I have concrete goals, but what matters most is focusing on each day at a time. If you obsess over results and put too much pressure on yourself, things tend not to go so well.”

Recently, she withdrew from the China Open, scheduled for September 28 to October 5, prolonging her break from competition. While it is uncertain when she will return, there is a possibility she might participate in the final Masters tournament of the WTA calendar at the Wuhan Open.

Raducanu is a fan favorite during the WTA Tour’s Asian swing due to her Chinese heritage, and her sponsor Uniqlo may be eager for her to compete in upcoming events like the Japan Open in Osaka or the Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo, both occurring in October. Throughout the 2026 season, Raducanu has only competed in 21 matches, winning 11, and has earned over $600,000 in prize money.
