
RICHMOND, Va. — The University of Richmond's men's and women's basketball teams will hold a Tip-Off Reception on Thursday, October 1, at the Queally Athletics Center and Spider Hall.

The event will begin with a cocktail hour featuring hors d'oeuvres at 6 PM. Bob Black, the Voice of the Spiders, will serve as the master of ceremonies for a short program that includes welcome remarks from men's head coach Chris Mooney and women's head coach Alisa Kresge. Attendees will also have the chance to meet members of the 2026-27 basketball rosters.
At 7 PM, a men's basketball intrasquad scrimmage will take place, allowing guests to enjoy the game from courtside seats in the Queally Athletics Center. Doors will open at 4:30 PM for those who wish to watch the women's basketball practice beforehand.

Proceeds from the event will support the Basketball Student-Athlete Development Funds, which aim to enhance roster-building, recruitment, and retention by providing direct payments to basketball student-athletes.
The Tip-Off Reception is part of a year-long series of events designed to offer exclusive access to Spider basketball for select supporters.
