Memphis Grizzlies Release D'Angelo Russell and Sign Brendan Hausen

The Memphis Grizzlies have waived guard D'Angelo Russell ahead of training camp and signed Brendan Hausen. This move is part of the team's effort to focus on rebuilding with young talent.

Russell, a former No. 2 overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft by the Los Angeles Lakers, was acquired by Memphis through a six-team, 11-player trade involving Washington in July. Over 11 seasons, the 30-year-old has played 655 games across several teams, including the Lakers, Brooklyn, Golden State, Minnesota, and Dallas.

Brendan Hausen, who went undrafted in June, started 33 of 120 games during his college basketball career at Villanova, Kansas State, and Iowa.
