This will be the 34th meeting between Oklahoma and Texas. Last year, the Sooners triumphed 4-2 on Senior Day at John Crain Field, with goals from returners Lexi Dendis and Kayla Keefer. Under head coach Matt Mott, Oklahoma holds a 2-1 record against Texas.

Oklahoma has achieved its highest ranking of the season, sitting at No. 21 in the latest Intercollegiate Women's Soccer Organization (IWSOC) Poll and at No. 18 in the Top Drawer Soccer Poll for the second week in a row.

In their last outing, the Sooners faced a challenge against No. 7/12 Alabama, outshooting the Crimson Tide but suffering a 3-1 defeat that ended their 11-match unbeaten streak on September 27.

Texas, directed by first-year head coach Margueritte Bates, has a record of 6-2-3 and is 1-1-2 in Southeastern Conference play. Bates previously led UCLA to a national championship during her inaugural season in 2022. The Longhorns recently secured their first SEC win this season with a 2-0 victory against Ole Miss, following a 3-1 loss to Arkansas and draws against No. 8/4 Tennessee and Florida. Texas is unranked in the latest IWSOC poll while positioned at No. 22 in the Top Drawer Soccer poll.

The Longhorns have scored 20 goals while conceding 17. Ava McDonald and Amalia Villarreal lead the team with four goals each.

Junior forward Kayla Keefer has been recognized on the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Hermann Trophy Midseason Watch List, being one of 30 players selected nationwide. She currently leads the nation with 15 goals and 32 points through 12 matches.

Freshman Kate McCallister was named SEC Freshman of the Week after scoring the equalizer in a recent victory against Georgia, marking the second such honor for the Sooners since they joined the league.

Additional statistics include Keefer needing just one goal to set the Oklahoma single-season record, while she is also close to breaking the single-season points mark. The Sooners are unbeaten in their last six road matches, boasting a record of 4-0-2 this season. Notably, freshmen Kennedy Kaiser and Kate McCallister have contributed significantly, accounting for 19 of the 25 total points scored by freshmen this season.
