The event will be held at the 3x3 Basketball Stadium located on Chengshan Road in Huzhou’s Wuyang District. Deqing has become a prominent hub for 3x3 basketball in China, offering dedicated facilities and a supportive local community for the sport.
Action begins with the World Tour Qualifying Draw and pool games on Saturday, September 26, followed by the knockout rounds and finals on Sunday, September 27. The format includes a qualifying round where three teams, Fuengirola (ESP), Utrecht (NED), and Bochum SPARKASSE (GER), will compete for the final spot in the main draw.
Among the 14 teams participating, World No. 1 Ub (SRB) enters as the top seed, with Miami (USA), Amsterdam RABOBANK (NED), and Antwerp (BEL) following closely. Other notable teams include Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy (MGL), Toronto (CAN), Toulouse (FRA), and Vienna (AUT). The host team, DeQing (CHN), is seeded ninth.
Teams will compete within four pools of three, with the top two from each pool moving on to the Quarter-Finals. The tournament's compact format means each match is crucial as teams vie for advancement.
Last year, London (USA) secured the championship, defeating Liman (SRB) in the final. This year, players to watch include Strahinja Stojacic (Ub), James Parrott (Miami), Worthy de Jong (Amsterdam), and Ulaanbaatar's Anand Ariunbold, among others. The local team will rely on Francis Lacis and Zhang Dianliang during their matches against top contenders.
