A janitor has been charged with 11 counts of voyeurism after being discovered in the ceiling of the women's locker room at Wilmington College. Police responded to the Scheve Athletic Center around 9:40 p.m. on Tuesday following a report of a person photographing members of the women's soccer team while they were changing.

Upon arrival, officers found Jayson Barker, 29, of Jeffersonville, Ohio, who had been detained by Campus Safety personnel. It is alleged that Barker concealed himself in the ceiling and was found after a member of the soccer team noticed him. Barker was working as a contracted janitor at the college.
Wilmington Detective Matt Hamilton stated that Barker was able to push the ceiling tile to gain access. In a statement, Wilmington College expressed its commitment to the safety of its students, noting that counseling and support services had been provided since the incident. The college is also working with law enforcement on the matter.
Randal Sarvis, Wilmington College's associate vice president for communications, indicated that the building would be assessed for additional security measures and confirmed that Barker is under a no-trespass order from college property.
Barker is currently held at Clinton County Jail on a $22,000 cash surety bond and is scheduled for a court appearance on Monday, Oct. 5, in Clinton County Municipal Court. Authorities have obtained a search warrant for his cell phone to investigate whether he had previously accessed the locker room, which may lead to further charges. The investigation is ongoing.
