Portland Fire Guard Jordan Harrison Announces Retirement from Basketball

Harrison, a rookie from West Virginia, quickly became a fan favorite during the team's inaugural 2026 season. Over 16 games, including two starts, she averaged five points and four assists in just 14 minutes per game.

Her standout performance came on August 8 against the Seattle Storm, where she scored 13 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and provided six assists. In that game, after starting point guard Carla Leite was injured within the first four minutes, Harrison stepped in to play a season-high 28 minutes, contributing significantly to the Fire's 100-93 victory.

In the team’s final game last week, Harrison played an important role in a comeback against the Golden State Valkyries, turning a 17-0 deficit into a competitive match. In 16 minutes, she scored six points and logged 10 assists, tying her season high.

Before joining the Fire, the 22-year-old began her collegiate career at Stephen F. Austin, completing her last three seasons at West Virginia University.
