Ana Montana, also known as Analicia Chaves, has been arrested on felony drug charges in North Carolina. The 36-year-old Instagram model and girlfriend of Timberwolves guard LaMelo Ball was taken into custody earlier this week following a police investigation related to a pharmacy visit.

The incident traces back to February, when Chaves allegedly attempted to fill a Xanax prescription at a local Walgreens. Law enforcement claims that the prescription was issued using a physician’s stolen DEA registration and credentials. As a result, Chaves has been charged with two felony counts of obtaining controlled substances by fraud or forgery, along with two misdemeanor counts for simple possession of a Schedule IV drug.
Chaves' legal defense, led by attorney Matthew Pruden, asserts that she was merely a patient filling a valid prescription given to her by a treating physician. The defense maintains she did not forge any documents, stating, "To clarify, the charges allege that a doctor who used a fraudulent DEA registration and NPI number prescribed Alprazolam for Ms. Chaves, and that she used the prescription written by the doctor to obtain the prescribed Alprazolam at a pharmacy."
While this situation unfolds, official police records confirm LaMelo Ball is not implicated in any aspect of the investigation. This arrest comes during a busy year for the couple, who welcomed their son, LaOne, in January.
Chaves has since posted bond and is scheduled to appear in court on October 20.
