Michigan outshot Nebraska 14-5, including a 9-2 advantage in shots on goal. Ella Jablinskey and Melisa Kekic each led the Wolverines with four shots, three of which were on target.
The Wolverines took control early, with Jablinskey forcing a save within the first six minutes. Lilley Bosley followed with another shot on goal just two minutes later. Throughout the first half, Michigan maintained pressure, reflected in their 8-1 advantage in shots.
The trend continued after halftime, with Jablinskey again threatening the Nebraska goal in the 57th minute and Kekic adding another attempt shortly afterward. Campbell Jewell made a late effort as Michigan pushed for a breakthrough.
However, Nebraska broke the deadlock with a goal in the 88th minute, taking a 1-0 lead. Malia Zillman, who played the full match in goal for Michigan, made one save.
Michigan’s record now stands at 4-3-3 overall and 2-3-0 in the Big Ten. The team will next travel to Bloomington, Indiana, to face Indiana on Sunday, October 4, at noon, with the match set to be broadcast live on Big Ten Network.
