Temple Men's Basketball Unveils 2026-27 Non-Conference Schedule

Out of the 10 games in Philadelphia, six will take place at the Liacouras Center, two at the Palestra—celebrating its 100th anniversary—and one at Xfinity Mobile Arena as part of the Big 5 Classic. The Owls will also compete against La Salle.

Fisher expressed enthusiasm about the schedule, stating, "We're excited about the level of competition throughout our non-conference schedule. It will challenge our team and help prepare us for American Conference play. We're also looking forward to playing throughout Philadelphia and giving our fans plenty of opportunities to see us compete."

The schedule includes visits from 2026 NCAA Tournament teams Villanova and Wright State to the Liacouras Center. Wright State won the Horizon League regular-season and tournament championships, while Villanova earned an at-large No. 8 seed.

Temple will kick off the season against Central Connecticut State on November 2 and then play Richmond at the Palestra on November 8. This matchup marks the 22nd meeting between the two programs, with Temple leading the series 11-10. They have faced each other twice in the NCAA Tournament, with Temple winning both games in 1988 and 1991.

Following that, the Owls will host Charleston on November 11 for their first matchup in Philadelphia. The teams have split their previous two encounters, with Charleston winning in Puerto Rico in 2007 and Temple securing a 70-65 victory at the 2008 Charleston Classic.

On November 15, Temple faces La Salle in another Big 5 contest, marking their 126th meeting. Temple holds a significant lead in the all-time series at 82-43, having won 90-63 in their previous encounter at the Liacouras Center last season.

Temple's journey outside of Philadelphia begins with the Paradise Jam from November 20-23, where they will open against Middle Tennessee, followed by two additional games based on the tournament results.

After Thanksgiving, the Owls will return to Philadelphia for six consecutive home games. They will host Villanova on December 1 in the 98th meeting of the two teams, which will take place at the Liacouras Center for the first time since the 2022-23 season, when Temple defeated then-ranked No. 16 Villanova, 68-64.

The Owls will then participate in the Big 5 Classic at Xfinity Mobile Arena on December 5, potentially facing Drexel, Penn, or Saint Joseph's. They will continue back at the Liacouras Center by hosting Cheyney on December 9, which is noteworthy for its connection to legendary coach John Chaney.

On December 12, the Owls will compete against St. Bonaventure at the Palestra, maintaining a strong lead in their historical meetings at 53-7. December 16 will see Dartmouth visit the Liacouras Center for their first matchup since the 1958 NCAA Tournament, where Temple defeated Dartmouth to advance to the Final Four. Temple leads the series 3-1.

The Owls will host Horizon League champion Wright State on December 19 and conclude their non-conference schedule at Princeton on December 22, where they maintain a 12-8 advantage from their previous meetings.
