Former Middle Tennessee State University women’s soccer player Savannah Stair has died following a car accident in Nashville. Stair, 28, was driving a Toyota 4Runner on Great Circle Road around 11 p.m. on Friday night when her vehicle went off the road at a curve, struck a curb, and overturned, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department. She was later transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she died. Authorities reported no signs of impairment at the accident scene.

MTSU Soccer expressed its sorrow over Stair’s passing through a social media announcement on Saturday, extending condolences to her family and friends. Stair played for the Blue Raiders from 2016 to 2019, participating in 14 matches as a senior and starting five games on defense. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
