Stephen Curry Signs Two-Year Contract Extension with Warriors

Curry, drafted by the Warriors in 2009 and a four-time NBA champion, was eligible for a contract worth up to $136 million but chose to take less, reaffirming his commitment to finish his career with Golden State. ESPN’s Shams Charania first reported the agreement.

Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy expressed enthusiasm about the extension, stating, “We couldn’t be more excited about reaching an agreement with Stephen and extending his historic career with the Warriors. There has never been a better face to a franchise in professional sports history, both on and off the court, than Stephen Curry.”

The 38-year-old will first complete a previous $62.6 million extension for the 2026-27 season before the new contract begins. This will mark his 20th season with the Warriors, a milestone achieved by only a few players in NBA history, including Dirk Nowitzki, Kobe Bryant, and Udonis Haslem.

Last season, Curry averaged 26.6 points, 4.7 assists, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.1 steals over 30.9 minutes per game but played in only 43 games due to a right knee injury that sidelined him for more than two months. He last contributed to the Warriors' championship success in 2022.

Dunleavy added, “We’ve been incredibly blessed to experience 17 years of Stephen’s artistry and are thrilled that our fans will continue to have the opportunity to watch him perform.”
