In Orlando City's 4-1 victory over D.C. United at Inter.co Stadium on Saturday night, Griezmann scored two goals and provided one assist. Since joining MLS in July, Griezmann has totaled 12 goals and seven assists in 14 appearances, contributing to at least one goal in 12 of those matches. His 19 goal contributions rank as the second-most among newcomers, surpassed only by Houston Dynamo FC’s Guilherme with 26. He is also the first player in league history to record at least one goal contribution in 12 of his first 14 games, and one of just three players to achieve multiple contributions in six of his first 14 matches. During this span, Orlando City SC has a record of 8-3-3, moving from outside to the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference with 41 points (12-13-5).

Griezmann initiated the scoring in the 15th minute, showcasing a quick pass exchange with Daryl Dike and Martín Ojeda before finishing from close range. He then assisted Ojeda's remarkable scorpion-kick goal, which made it 2-0 in the 22nd minute. Despite D.C. United narrowing the score to 2-1 before halftime, Griezmann secured his second goal of the evening in the 50th minute by seizing on a defensive error.

This marks Griezmann’s second MLS Player of the Matchday award this season, having previously received the honor on Matchday 22. He becomes the first French player to earn multiple awards in the same season since Thierry Henry achieved five awards with Red Bull New York in 2012.

Orlando City SC will aim to solidify their playoff position when they host New York City FC at Inter.co Stadium on Saturday, October 24, at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The MLS Player of the Matchday, presented by Michelob ULTRA, is determined each matchday through a combination of media and fan voting. A panel of journalists from the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) accounts for 75 percent of the vote, with an Instagram fan vote covering the remaining 25 percent.
