Olivia Miles of the Minnesota Lynx has set a new rookie scoring record in the WNBA, surpassing the mark previously held by Caitlin Clark. Selected with the No. 2 overall pick in this year’s draft, Miles made her mark during the Lynx's 101-89 victory over the Connecticut Sun on Sunday by scoring 21 points, bringing her season total to 790 points in 40 games.

Caitlin Clark, who played for the Indiana Fever, held the previous record with 769 points during her rookie season in 2024. Both players achieved their records in the same number of games despite an expanded WNBA schedule in 2026. After the game, Miles credited her teammates and coaching staff for her success, stating, "It’s special, but it means we’re more so working well as a team. I have great teammates around me, great vets who allow me to be me out there."
In addition to her scoring record, Miles has also set several other rookie milestones this season, including making eight 3-pointers in a single game against the Golden State Valkyries in June. She is also recognized as the fastest rookie to reach 350 points, 100 rebounds, and 100 assists, achieving this feat in just 21 games, one game faster than Clark and former Chicago Sting player Andrea Stinson.
